What:  Youth Empowerment Summer Camp for Girls 

When: June 20 -July 29, 2011

Where: University of Miami Coral Gables,
*Overtown Pick-up & Drop-off available

Who: Girls Ages 6-12 (must have completed Kindergarten)
 
Time: Mon-Fri 8:30am-6:00pm (Before Care begins at 7:30am)

Fees:
City of Miami Residents (Income Eligible)  
Registration: $30.00/per child
Weekly Fee $30/per child (Only $6/day!)

All Others
Registration $30.00/per child
Weekly Fee: $100/per child (Only $20/day!)

Not Income Eligible: If you register by May 15th your weekly fee will only be $60/week!

Activity Highlights: Daily Nutritional Snack and Lunch, Field Trips, Dance, Drama, Music, Entrepreneurship, Arts and Culture, Journalism, Story Time, Creative Writing, Etiquette, Social Skills, Recreation, End of Camp Talent Expo & Family Carnival

Enrollment

There are several steps to officially enroll your child in the Youth Empowerment Summer Camp Program.
1) Complete Enrollment Application (Click here for forms). The forms can be returned via mail, fax or dropped off to: Urgent, Inc. 1600 NW 3rd Ave. Bldg Miami, FL 33136, Fax # 866-811-7778.

2) Pay Registration Fee. Registrations are taken on a first come first serve basis. All fees are non-refundable. Before you pay, please call to verify we are still accepting applications. Register Here

3) Attend a Mandatory Pre Camp Parent Orientation. Parent orientations will be held beginning in April 2011 through the start of camp in June. Please bring all required forms and supporting documentation. To schedule an orientation: Email shedia@urgentinc.org or call 305-586-6694.

Note: Your child will not be able to begin the program until all enrollment forms have been completed successfully and summer camp fees are paid in full prior to May 21 , 2011.

This summer 67 girls ages 6-13 had the great opportunity to attend Youth Empower Summer Camp on the University of Miami's beautiful Coral Gables Campus. Girls from Overtown, Liberty City, Little Haiti and all over Miami-Dade County attended Monday-Friday for six weeks to participate in skill building, fitness, entrepreneurship, literacy, social skills and cultural arts and education workshops.
  
As a result, girls made tremendous gains. Highlights of their achievements include 95% of girls increased oral reading fluency and 92% increase fitness endurance!
