Unite for Peace

Unite for PeaceCALL TO ACTION!

Dear friends and colleagues:

The voice of youth who are making positive life choices, standing up to negative peer pressures, giving back to their communities and developing positive media messages through the performance arts is lost in the chaotic chatter of a violent youth culture that has been promoted relentlessly in the news and entertainment media for too long. You have the power to make their voices-- the voices of youth who want peace, the voices of youth who say yes to a positive future, the voices of those who want to stand united with their peers across race, class, ethnic, culture and religious imaginary lines of division HEARD on Saturday May 2, 2009.

With your help, youth will be celebrated publicly and recognized for making positive choices at the 1st Annual Youth Unite for Peace Festival 2009. We know the power of young people’s creativity and self-expression can be used as a meaningful and powerful voice for change in attitude, thinking and behavior as they become the visionaries and future leaders of our world.

On behalf of the Youth Unite for Peace Festival Committee 2009, we invite you to join with us and be a part of the 1st Annual Youth Unite for Peace Festival to be held on Saturday May 2, 2009. For more information, please contact Shedia Nelson at 305-576-3084ph or shedia@urgentinc.org.
